Glutaraldehyde is a high-efficiency disinfectant with broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity, less corrosive to metals, less affected by organic matter, and good stability. It is suitable for disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments and precision instruments that are resistant to moisture and heat.

Glutaraldehyde is a colorless transparent oily liquid with a pungent odor, soluble in hot water. Used as a fungicide, but also for leather tanning. It has a strong stimulating effect on eyes, skin and mucous membranes.
Application field
①Disinfection and sterilization of medical equipment
2% glutaraldehyde (alkaline, acid, neutral) can be used for disinfection and sterilization of various medical devices that are not afraid of moisture. Immerse the clean and dry instruments in the glutaraldehyde aqueous solution at room temperature for 30 minutes to achieve sterilization for more than 10 hours.
No matter what kind of preparation, you need to add 0.5% sodium nitrite as a preservative before use, but once added the preservative can only be stored for 1 month, alkaline glutaraldehyde can only be used continuously for 1-2 weeks.
②Disinfection and sterilization of endoscope
Glutaraldehyde Glutaraldehyde is the drug of choice for endoscope disinfection. At present, endoscopes are widely used and various types, and the precision of manufacturing has reached a new level, but the requirements for disinfection and sterilization are also increasing. Many components of modern endoscopes are not resistant to high temperature and are afraid of corrosion. Therefore, most endoscopes are sterilized or sterilized with glutaraldehyde. The correct operation procedure for glutaraldehyde disinfection or sterilization is: firstly, the contaminated items are harmlessly treated (the endoscope can be directly cleaned), and the endoscope can be cleaned with 0.2% effective chlorine cleaning disinfectant, and then used again Carefully scrub with detergent or enzyme-added detergent; rinse, rinse the detergent with water; dry, wash the instruments after drying; sterilize, soak the dried instruments in 2% glutaraldehyde solution At the specified time, remove the residual glutaraldehyde with sterile distilled water and use it or store it dry. How to use this section
Sterilization: There is only one immersion method.
Immerse the items to be sterilized in the 2% glutaraldehyde solution, cover them, soak them for 10 hours, remove them aseptically, rinse them with sterilized water, and dry them after aseptic procedures. Glutaraldehyde was used for 14 days. Disinfection treatment: immersion method.
Immerse the disinfected items in 2% glutaraldehyde solution and cover. It is generally contaminated with bacterial propagules, soaked for 10 minutes, and soaked for 30 minutes with hepatitis virus contamination, rinsed with sterile distilled water and dried.
Wiping method: use 2% glutaraldehyde solution to wipe the surface contaminated by bacterial propagules for disinfection for 10 minutes, and hepatitis virus contaminated surface for 30 minutes.
